There has been a significant shift towards round tanks for fish rearing. Properly designed round tanks with a central drain, moderately sloped floor and proper inlet piping take advantage of gravitational and centrifugal forces to keep themselves clean. The water moving in a circular flow will carry the solids to the central drain, from where they can be piped away for separation and re-use or disposal. With a properly designed inlet system, the oxygen rich water will provide just the right current for good muscle tone while distributing new water evenly throughout the tank. All these prerequisite for sustainable aquaculture development can be met by Biofloc technology.
The Biofloc is a protein reach macro aggregate of organic material and micro-organisms including diatoms, bacteria, protozoa, algae, fecal pellets, remains the dead organisms and other invertebrates. It is a technique of enhancing water quality in aquaculture through balancing carbon and nitrogen in the system. The technology has recently gained attention as a sustainable method to control water quality, with the added value of producing protein rich feed in situ. The basic technology was developed by Dr.Yoram Avinmelech in Israel and initially implemented commercially in Belize by Belize Aquaculture. Biofloc technology has become a popular technology in the fish farming of pacific white shrimp, litopenaeus vannamei. Advantages and Disadvantages Advantages
Presently, a number of studies by major universities and private companies are using Biofloc as protein source in shrimp and fish feeds. Biofloc technology has been used in several parts of the world, countries like Peru, Belize, Guatemala, Indonesia, Malaysia, China, in India and other countries.

Using a tarpaulin bike cover can help free up space in your shed, garage or home. You can safely store the bike outside, knowing that it will remain safe and protected from the elements. If you are short on space, storing your bike outside could be the answer to decluttering your home. A tarpaulin bike cover gives you this option. Waterproof and tough A good bike cover will protect your precious cycle from anything the weather can throw at it. This includes rain, snow, hail, dust and UV protection, all which can damage your bicycle if it were to be left unprotected. The cover should shed water easily and be quick drying. Ideally, it should incorporate a PE coating to further protect and enhance the life of the fabric. The fabric should also be tough and hard wearing while remaining smooth and supple enough to comfortably fit over the bike. It should ideally be double stitched, with overlapping seams, to prevent any water ingress at the joints. Weather Protection A tarpaulin bike cover with all the weather protection features you can get. Moisture, sun, wind and dust are unkind to motorcycles, and having your motorcycle sit out unprotected is something you should strive to avoid. Sun/UV Protection Sunlight, on the other hand, is just as damaging. Direct sunlight can rob paint of its colour and shine, and after a rain, can create some nasty water spotting as well. In order to protect your finish from harmful UV rays, Supreme Bike covers has UV protection. Much like UV sunglasses shield your eyes from the invisible but harmful UV rays that are seeping through our ozone, a motorcycle cover with UV protection will shield your motorcycle’s finish and keep it looking just like new. Heat-Resistant Fabric Typically, you’ll need to let your bike cool after it has been ridden before you can cover it, to prevent the hot exhaust from melting a hole into the cover. But these days, many manufacturers are incorporating heat-resistant panels into covers to prevent this, so you can throw the cover on right after a ride while it’s still hot. Covers like the fully featured Supreme Bike Covers shown below incorporate this. |
